Lewis Carroll, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland". That is single threading. If your program is dealing with some other part of the problem while it is "going on" then that is multi-threading. This book explains the techniques and provides the tools on a bound-in CD-ROM. The quotatirons at the chapter headings were quite apposite but we did expect to find ours above in the book. Perhaps it is, the book is of considerable size.
