We did not notice any reference to software patents in this book but we take it that such patents cannot be far from the minds of our readers. There are ten separately authored chapters. Mainly the intellectual property protection considered is patents. By extension the reader can apply his/her mind to the subject matter of a software patent. We found the exercise helpful in understanding the protection that innovation needs if it is to be financially motivated. Certainly this book is more important than just background reading for the software involved legal person.
