A book produced out of the activities of the ESPRIT (EU) project SCOPE. A large number of people were involved and their work is of high quality. The publisher does not appear to have made much input. With a Preface date of November 1994 and a publication date of 1995 the book is out of date and hardly worth the price required for a hardback. The title topic is moving faster than a book created as this was could ever hope to keep up. There is a much better book in this material presented and we would expect to see the publisher aiming for that quality. The giveaways are references to the European Community and the British Standards Institute.
