A methodology developed in the EU Esprit project REBOOT ("REuse Based on Object-Oriented Techniques"). In general it involves taking units from an existing system or developing units that can be so taken and building up a repository of pieces of software that can be used as required. Naturally enough the units or pieces are called Objects. Eight organisations were involved in REBOOT and no commercially available product is mentioned.
